just follow the instructions and always use battery power only - no 12v power supply, invertor etc.when using the tuner or scanner and make sure the battery level is not low before flashing I have done that literally hundreds of times on my 203,000 mile daily driver. with all their resources.Īs for a scanner I'm game if i can make the time. When you flash your car with hp tuners you will be writing calibration only 99% of the time I think I'll let that dog lie for now and just learn by watching the flash revision changes as it seems FCA can't get it tuned correctly. I purchased the HP tuner just because they just released the NAG1 Transmission tuning.and I'm waiting for the 8 speed for my Hellcat. Now that Holley owns Diablosport it seems things have changed.
I've been a DS CMR tuner since 2007 and knew Mike Wesley before that as he contacted me because I was publicly hacking the NGC4 controller with the Freescale MPC 5554 chip and he had bricked a NGC PCM and wanted to know how to get back in using the chip JTAG/Nexus. are you letting the PCM decide what tune to run by how you fuel the vehicle? It ain't easy at first.even the professionals like Overkill ask questions on the Diablo CMR dealers forum.Īs for the E85 that sounds like a interesting way to attack it. I worked on the original DS Histogram that worked well in the beginning way back in 07. it just kills the rolling encryption flashing function HP tuners and DiabloSport through their PCM unlock services turns the GPEC2A into a GPEC2. nobody wanted to give him a copy but i did.īasically. I gave a couple guys their start like Jon Rodxxxxx. not at all like Ford and a little close to GM but far enough away that you can get in real trouble. FCA tuning algorithms aren't like anything out there in terms of tuning. I've taken out one of my own Hemi engines years ago when nobody knew anything about FCA algorithms. I'm on HP tuners forum but don't contribute much as I'm of the old Diablosport school where tuners don't share much because the cost of learning to tune the FCA stuff is very high.
(plus the $100 or so for the used ECM from a wrecked car, so $450 really) Plus I generally don't trust anyone else to tune my car, and it's not like it's rocket science with my level of experience.Ĭlick to expand.Well I am on all the major forums on the net in various degrees. Add in $100 of tuning credits and BAM, $350 for a tune. I already own HPTuners so I read my tune myself, and am waiting for the available funds to buy one of the used ECMs to send in to HPTuners for the $249 unlock service.
Really to help me, but I'd be willing to share once I get a crack at it. Planefixer, are you on the HPTuners forums? I was thinking of creating a Pentastar scanner config to aid in the tuning of these cars.
I will probably wish deeply that the transmission were re-tuneable, as that's where I see the greatest performance gains coming from after the engine re-tune. Why pay the additional money for the 91 octane, when E85 is cheaper and capable of a lot more tolerance? Engine is already Flex Fuel so can't ask for a much easier accommodation than that. My plan is to use the gasoline timing tables to remain set to 87 octane, and then use the E85 tables for the "performance tune" timing tables that way I can have a pump and go setup. (plus the $100 or so for the used ECM from a wrecked car, so $450 really) Plus I generally don't trust anyone else to tune my car, and it's not like it's rocket science with my level of experience.
